Severe weather event response
Monitor severe weather conditions and submit local storm reports to the Net Control Office, who in turn, reports to both the National Weather Service office as well as the local officials
Can provide in-direct communications between the local community and the National Weather Service Office.
Can deploy NWS trained severe weather assessment personnel to provide real-time information.
20+ volunteers to assist as needed.
Trained to NWS and FEMA Incident Command standards. NIMS 100,200 700 and 800
Can integrate into currently established severe weather assessment programs as needed.
Post-event debris assessment
Conducts a survey of the impacted area and reports major debris and other damage to the Net Control Officer, whom reports to the NWS Office. This information can also be passed to the local officials to provide information as to the impact the event may have had on their community.
During major events, this function can also assist the community in implementing their own Damage Assessment Program which will aid in the state of emergency declaration process when needed.
Can establish short duration auxiliary communications as needed.
